1960 DiGiorgio Restoration completed August of 2017. The following instrument was a Brazilian guitar in fairly poor shape that we decided to completely overhaul, including a new top of some very exquisite Swiss spruce. The internals of the guitar were reinforced and then a new top, fingerboard, bridge, and headstock were fasioned. Custom Simplicio model Alessi tuners grace the new headtock to complete the work. The restoration was extensive and time consuming, but the results were well worth it. The sound is rich, dark and old world with excellent clarity and a hint of dry “pop” to the notes.
“00.5” acoustic guitar with mineshaft redwood and cocobolo rosewood back and sides completed December of 2017. The combination of dense redwood and cocobolo made for a grand “cathedral like” sound with both clarity and rich overtones.
